Tree Removal

Removal is the process of felling an unwanted tree and removing it from your lot. Tree removal also covers removing already-fallen trees. We always plan and price tree removal jobs according to your specific needs. Sometimes the safe way to remove a tree is to climb it and lower it down in sections; sometimes a tree can be felled from the base. The Firewood Sellers team is committed to removing your tree in the safest, most effective manner. If that means using a crane to access the tree safely, that’s exactly what we’ll do.

Tree Trimming

Trimming involves removing dead wood, inside growth, or the ends of limbs and branches. There are numerous reasons to trim your trees. Perhaps you want to open up your outdoor space and let more sunlight in through your trees. Perhaps you need to cut your trees back before they grow dangerously close to buildings, driveways, or pools. At Firewood Sellers, our expert arborists will listen to your trimming needs and come up with a way to meet them that enhances the health of the tree and the safety of your property.

Tree Thinning

This is a healthy, professionally-conducted trim that removes potentially-hazardous material from the top of your tree. Thinning is different from topping because it prioritizes the long-term health of the tree. Thinning is well worth your consideration because it improves a tree’s ability to stand up to high winds and other adverse weather conditions. Thinning also promotes better growth by directing the tree’s nutrients toward its healthiest branches and limbs.

Tree Shaping

Tree shaping is the process of aesthetically perfecting the proportions of a given tree. Shaping can make your trees look great, but this is absolutely a job for trained and experienced arborists like those on the Firewood Sellers team. They have the know-how to adjust your tree’s looks without harming its structural growth. Tree shaping isn’t solely a matter of making your trees look better; shaping can be helpful or even necessary to help trees recover from weather damage.

Tree Pruning

The pruning process involves removing sprouts, sucker growths, and branch-tips to keep a tree growing healthily without increasing in size. While we can prune any size tree, this service is most commonly ordered for — and most effective on — fruit trees, shrubs, and bushes.

Debris Removal

This service is a painstaking pass over your property to get rid of any sort of unwanted debris. Fallen trees, limbs, branches, sticks, logs, stumps — when it all has to go, ordering a debris removal will get rid of it. In Houston and similar parts of Texas, debris removal is especially important in the aftermath of hurricanes and other major weather events. Trust your debris removal work to Firewood Sellers and your job will be completed quickly and professionally at a price you’ll like!

Lot & Land Clearing

Lot clearing is most often a service ordered before the start of new construction. Firewood Sellers provides such services for residential and commercial clients throughout the Houston area. We will work tirelessly to meet your schedule and have your land cleared on time. Our team is completely flexible and will preserve any trees you want to keep. We conduct lot clearing with environmentally-friendly equipment and sound conservation principles to ensure that no harm is done to trees, shrubs, and other vegetation left behind.

Stump Grinding

This process involves bringing the right equipment and expertise to get rid of even the biggest, most stubborn stumps. The Firewood Sellers team has access to a range of different stump grinders from industrial models to compact portable grinders to get into hard-to-reach places. Wherever your problem stump is, we can provide an effective and permanent solution!

Emergency Tree Service

The Firewood Sellers team is always available for 24-hour emergency tree services in the Houston area. The most urgent tree problems — like damaged or fallen trees blocking important parts of your property or threatening to cause further damage if they fall — demand urgent solutions. We have expert arborists ready to help make your property safe again at any time of the day or night.

Gutter Cleaning

On a lot of the homes and commercial properties in the Houston area, the gutter systems are complex and hard to reach. Cleaning them out yourself can take a lot of time and effort and even subject you to an excessive risk of injury. Call Firewood Sellers and let us handle the job quickly and professionally! We’ll use all the proper equipment and techniques to clear every speck of debris from your gutters and get them working at peak efficiency again.

Tree Fertilization

The most beautiful trees are those that have ample nutrition. Tree fertilizing is a great step to ensure your trees are as strong, healthy, and gorgeous as can be. We fertilize with professional techniques to ensure that useful minerals and nutrients are delivered where they’ll do the most good, in the deep root system. Trees in natural forests have a lot of different nutrient sources to draw on, and in contrast, the urban or suburban environment can be limiting. Let Firewood Sellers fertilize your trees to ensure they thrive for many years to come!

Bark Beetle Spraying For Pine Trees

In the Houston area, bark beetles can be a destructive problem for pine trees. These pests can be kept away by annual preventive spraying. The details of pine tree spraying should be planned out by an experienced arborist. For example, spray needs to be applied to only the bottom 20 feet or less of the trunk. The exact height up to which spray should be applied depends on the thickness of the trunk and where and how it narrows. Most pine trees will only need to be sprayed up to a height of eight to fifteen feet.

A single mature pine tree typically requires about a quarter-gallon of spray, applied evenly around the circumference. The goal in bark beetle spraying is to wet the bark fully and evenly, but only to the point of run-off. The spray is not applied to needles or small (under 6″ diameter) branches.

Bark beetle spraying needs favorable weather conditions, and it should be done before the onset of freezing weather. Spraying should be planned so that the spray has at least two hours of clear weather to dry. Trees that have been sprayed for beetles should be marked to indicate that they have been treated. The industry standard is to mark the base of treated trees with a spot of gray paint.

Bark beetle spraying can be combined with other forms of pest control. For example, arborists often add miticide to the spray mixture every three years to protect against spider mites.

Texas Tree Removals

Trees need to be removed if they are dead, dying, or positioned to pose a danger to existing or new construction. Call Firewood Sellers for a customized tree removal plan that will get rid of your unwanted tree safely and affordably.

Texas Tree Pruning

Pruning is a specific sort of trimming that involves removing specific branches to achieve a desired effect. You may want to prune your trees to improve your view, increase sunlight, remove a dangerous branch, or make your tree healthier. When performed by an experienced arborist, pruning always has a healthy, life-extending effect on your tree.
